Born in Biella, Giorgio Delpiano graduated in Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino in 1975 and then started his career as Project Manager at petrochemical company Foster Wheeler.
In 1980 he became General Manager at Bolgheri, part of Ermenegildo Zegna Group, the company in charge of producing and distributing Dunhill, Gherardini and Versace men accessories.
In 1985 he was named Managing Director of Ermenegildo Zegna Group in Barcelona, Spain, and in 1990 he became CEO of Zegna’s Tailoring Division and member of its BOD, managing the production and distribution of the Group’s licences of Armani, Versace and Sharmoon Men’s Collections for the Chinese market.
He also managed the licence agreements for the production and worldwide distribution of Versace, Gucci, YSL, Dunhill and Tom Ford menswear.
Since 2007, Delpiano is Managing Director in charge of Zegna Group’s Strategic Relations and responsible for the Joint Ventures and licencing agreements with: Tom Ford, Gucci, Dunhill, Sharmoon.
He is also member of Miroglio S.p.A., Miroglio Fashion s.r.l., Slowear (INCOTEX S.p.A.) and Façonnable BOD.
